Drapey Leaves Necklace

Do you remember my first blog poll with the different leaf earrings? Well, I decided to take one of those designs and turn it into a necklace. I tested it out at the Chomp and Stomp show and it was a success! So many people admired it, and some even bought one! So it is now up for sale at my shop. The other thing I did was make it with different stones. So you can get it with carnelian (shown), garnet, iolite, peridot, or black spinel.

I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

Going to Athens

Georgia, not Greece. The Athens Indie Craftstravaganzaa is going on this Saturday, so my friend and I decided to take a road trip to check it out. I've never been to Athens and am looking for a good place to grab lunch and also good boutiques. So if you have suggestions, please let me know. Thanks!

Random thoughts

I never have to drive very far, so a tank of gas can last me up to 3 weeks. So today, I finally got a chance to fill up with a gas price that was under $2 a gallon. I can't remember the last time I've seen that. Well, I accidentally filled up with the Plus instead of the Regular. How did that happen? Well, you would think that the Regular and Supreme pumps would be on the ends with the middle grade being in the, well, middle. But no, the sneaky gas station owners put the Regular in the middle. I wasn't paying attention, so they got me! It was definitely a "duh" moment for me.

Here's a question for the toothbrush manufacturers. Why do you keep making the handles fatter and fatter so that they don't fit through the toothbrush holders in our bathrooms?

Don't you think it's ironic that soap can create scum, when it's the very thing that we use to clean scum?

Now that I'm taking a little break from my jewelry bench, I have all these random thought going through my brain. Thanks for listening. :)

I am so excited to announce that I am included in the second online exhibition of Paper and Stitch! Please go check it out and tell everyone you know and maybe even show me a little love. The blog is also worth reading for fabulous indie finds. What's also great is that I am included with other artists that I love.

The exhibition is for month, so I will be adding new pieces as I have them ready.

I also have to mention that I'm included with some of my favorite artists, Phydeaux and Polarity. You have to check out their shops! :)

This weekend...

Shows, shows, shows! That's what I'm all about this week. So what's coming up you ask? Well, let me tell you!

This Saturday is the Holiday ICE show, which has 100 indie artists from all over. I went last year as a shopper and had a ton of fun, so I am really excited to be participating as a vendor this year. My booth will be next to Wren, the talent behind Love Yu, and a little further down is my friend Alex, creator of Lil Sprout Knits. Come and shop and buy handmade! Plus, he first 300 customers get a fabulous swag bag full of goodies from each vendor.

The Paideia School is having their annual Art Visions sale to raise money for their arts programs. They will be selling wares from a host of artists including fine art, holiday gifts, stationery, jewelry, and much, much more. So be sure to swing by!

Production Mode

So the great thing about Saturday was that I sold a lot of jewelry. But that means I'll be up late to get ready for the 3 shows that are coming up, and it all needs to be made by this weekend. I didn't time this all very well, but I'm not complaining. It's a good problem to have.

I had a few of these necklaces at Chomp and Stomp and I sold out! Now I'm making them in a few more color options. Hope they do as well at the upcoming shows. If you see anything you like, just send me an e-mail at june [at!] juneshin.com.
Happy Veteran's Day!

What a Day!

Chomp and Stomp was so great this year! I was a bit worried since they moved the artist market off the park and onto one of the side streets, but people found us and were happy to shop! AND, someone came into my booth and said that my pieces should be sold at Anthropologie. OMG, how awesome would it be if that actually happened, but what a great compliment!

Anyway, I brought my camera, but didn't have time to take pictures. I didn't even have much time to chat with the other artists. But, G was there with his fancy camera, so here's a little glimpse as to how many people came to enjoy the beautiful day and all the chili and beer.

In the morning when all the vendors were setting up.

Everyone is gunning for the chili which ran out in about 1 hour.

Yum!

The AsianCajuns did come by my booth and bought these fabulous necklaces!

Thanks to everyone who came out! It was a blast!

I'll be setting up shop there along with Love Yu and Sweet Honey Complex, so be sure to come out and say hi!

Meeting Tweeps

So I recently joined Twitter, after reading about it in the Etsy forums. Well, I have found a new addiction. It's been fun chatting and reading other tweets, and meeting cool new peeps! This past week, I met Xiane, who is a crafter extraordinaire! She spins yarn, makes bath and body products, pillows, mineral makeup, and is overall, a cool chick! What doesn't she make that I don't want?

Her mineral makeup is available at http://coffincolor.etsy.com, and be sure to check out her blog!

And if you'd like, you can follow me on twitter.

Reminder to Vote

I don't think anyone needs a reminder to vote today for the Presidential election, so I'm reminding you to vote on my poll! I just want to thank everyone for giving me you opinion on my necklace poll. You still have until Friday to cast a vote, but please also let me know which earrings from my shop you would like, if you are chosen as the winner.
