Some Seattle Pics

So I'm back from Seattle and loved it. The weather was perfect, people are really nice and great food. On my first day there, G and I were shown around town by our friend's parents. First stop was Ballard to check out the farmer's market and local boutiques.

We then had dinner over at the Pike Place Market and had an awesome view of the sunset.

Below are pictures of me being silly in front of some totem poles in Pioneer Square.
Of course I took a bunch more pictures, but the typical tourist stuff like the troll under the bridge and the rocket at the center of the Universe. Anyway, back in the South and real life. We definitely plan on going back to visit Seattle again.

Weekend Deals - Accessories

I'm back from Seattle and jumping back to life, starting with a weekend sale in my shop. Every weekend, Etsy has a weekend deals guide, and this time, the theme is accessories. So, starting today through Sunday (8/21-8/23) all items in my shop are 15% off, and if your order after the discount is over $50, shipping is free. Perfect time to stock up and start accessorizing your Fall wardrobe.

And in case your interested, I'll be posting pictures from my Seattle trip. Have a great weekend!

In Seattle

I am in Seattle for a couple days, checking out the lovely Pacific Northwest. This is my first time in this city, so am very excited to eat the food, visit the Pike Place Market and go shopping!

Breakfast and Spam

A few weeks ago, G cooked up a breakfast featuring grits, Spam Lite, caramelized onions and topped with a fried quail egg. Yes, Spam Lite because we try to be healthy.
Outcome: delicious.

Tea House and Charred Wood

One of the things I wanted to be when I grew up was an architect. Obviously, that didn't happen, but I still love browsing through architectural magazines. I was reading through the May issue of Dwell and they did a profile on Japanese architect and historian, Terunobu Fujimori. His designs are so unique and he uses interesting materials like volcanic rock and charred cedar. I would love to live in a house designed by him.
This is his Coal House made with charred wood, which gives it the look of alligator skin. Charring wood is said to protect it from rain, rot and insects for 80 years.
