Finally saw SATC

I finally watched Sex and the City Movie while in NY this week. I laughed, I cried, I was annoyed by the mike boom appearing in a gazillion scenes. What was that about? Talk about taking away from the movie magic. I know this is old news, but I actually didn't hear anyone talk about it before I saw it. But all that aside, I did enjoy the movie.

I would see it again.

My old stomping grounds

I am in NY for the week, and yesterday, I went down to the W. Village where I used to live. It was the perfect day to walk around.

The Dove is a bar a block from where I used to live and has great decor. They have a happy hour where all their specialty cocktails are $6. I had the Ginger Snap which is vodka, lime juice, fresh ginger and a splash of soda. Yum.
They also serve Absinthe which is pictured above. If you've never had it, just a warning that it tastes like licorice. My friend, who has a strong aversion to the smell and taste of licorice, ordered this $15 drink. Oh well, now we know.

This was a Jamaican place 2 doors down from my old apartment. I loved getting their beef patties. Too bad they're no more. But the Peanut Butter Company next door is still around.

Some of you may recognize the above picture from Will & Grace. Well this place was around forever, but it seems to be closed now. I think it's one of the first cafes I ever went into when I first trekked into the city and hung out in the "cool" West Village soooo many years ago. Sad to see it gone, but I hope they put something really cool in its place.

I didn't get a chance to walk further west where the really nice houses are, but I plan on doing that later this week. I also have to make my way around Soho, of course. Ciao for now.

Shoe Lust - Christian Louboutin

I hope to own a pair of Christian Louboutins soon. It'll probably take me a year to save up for a pair. *sigh*

Ladytron

Ladytron was in town and I went to see them at the Variety Playhouse in L5P. I never heard of them before, but the concert was a lot of fun. Here's a video:

3 Nights in Mumbai

Ok, so I meant to post this last week, but here's a recap of the wedding weekend. Not mine, but our friends' wedding. It was a 3 day celebration for us, starting on Thursday. Friends from out of town flew in, so of course we had to go out!

Friday was the Henna party where all the ladies got henna tattoos on their hands. Pretty, yeah? I wanted to get my palm done too, but we ran out of time.

Saturday was the big night, so I headed over to Tracy Ewell to get my makeup done. There's Tracy doing my makeup and Natalie taking shots. I think they did a great job. Thanks girls!

Everything was beautiful and I think everyone had a blast. It felt like a long weekend, but in a good way. Good fun, food, drinks and friends. What's better than that?
