I've always wanted to be able to take great photographs. I just don't think I have the eye for it. But having a nice camera and good subjects always helps. This past weekend, G and I went down to the Serenbe Community in Palmetto, GA. It's based on the concept of organic and sustainable living. Everyone we met were very nice, and they have some great architecture. I find it a little weird though, because the homes are very different. There is one modern, California beach looking house standing right next to a log cabin one. And then a string of stone townhouses. In any case, here are some pictures that were taken while down there. We did eat at the Farmhouse, where the menu changes weekly based on available produce from the local organic farms. Read G's blog, eatdrinkman.blogspot.com, to learn more about the food and see more pictures.
This one I took myself. I meant to focus on the run down farmhouse, but the camera focused on the tree branch instead. Turned out to be a pretty cool shot, if I do say so myself.
There were a bunch of these orange butterflies flying around near the entrance to the restaurant. I had to get a shot.

We visited Serenbe last month. Some of the homes were really gorgeous and I love the idea of the community and local farming. It's a little too far from Atlanta for my liking, but I'd love to return to hike and maybe rent a bike for the afternoon!
anyone can take a good photograph you just have to snap millions of photos. a great photographer come sup with 1 a month...not millions a year...
C&L, I couldn't live there full-time, but would love to own a home there. It would be great to go down for weekends and such.
Kim, That's true about taking millions of pictures. I guess I should say that I don't have the patience to take them all and then look through them to pick out the good ones. ;)
I love your orange butterfly pic, June! Yeah, I remember when you were thinking about Architecture as a major. Psycho-Bio won out though! Nice pics!
