Sage Treasury

I've just snagged another treasury on Etsy within a few days of my last one. I read that this can be addicting, and now I see why. Anyway, the theme of my treasury is sage; the color, the herb and a wise man. Pretty clever, if I do say so myself. While you're here, don't forget to vote for your favorite earrings in my poll.

Gas conservation

I still don't understand why the gas shortage seems to be limited to the metro Atlanta area, though I did hear the problem is creeping out to Nashville and Charlotte. Thankfully, I haven't had to wait on the long lines for gas or drive around trying to find gas (knock on wood.) So today, I decided to walk to work. It's about a 1/2 hour walk each way, but I figured I would save gas and get in some exercise. This is just a crazy time, right now. I hope everyone had a good weekend.

Opinions please...

Every month, I will be featuring new jewelry pieces that I have created. You will have the opportunity to vote on which piece I will actually offer in my shop. This monthly voting is threefold:
1. You can influence what is offered in my jewelry line.
2. All voters will be put in a random drawing and the winner will win the piece that they voted for, regardless of whether or not it was the winning piece.
3. If you are the winning voter and happened to vote for the winning piece, I will name the piece after you. Then you'll be famous! Well, you will in my world.

I've made 3 variations of earrings using golden leaf charms and carnelian beads. All are made with gold-filled chain and wire. Perfect for fall! The name of each pair is listed under the picture. Please leave in the comments the name of the piece your voting for, and make sure there is some way for me to contact you. The polls will close on October 5th. I will post the winning piece and winner on the 6th. And yes, I do ship worldwide.

Drapey Leaves - 3in long

Falling Leaves - 3.5in long

Leaves in Dewdrops - 1.5in long

Thanks for voting! The polls have been closed.

TIN ROOF! Rusted

I managed to create a treasury on Etsy last night. Inspired by the B-52s! You can view the actual treasury here.

Please check out these amazing artists!

Thursday Etsy Favorites

In trying to organize all my ideas for posts, I've decided to dedicate Thursdays to my Etsy finds. I've heard of people keeping blog calendars, and now I can see why. But I digress. I love all kinds of stationery. Not as much as I like shoes, but I'm always browsing through the stationery section to see all the pretty cards. I also love sending and receiving snail mail, don't you? Too bad with the internet , hardly anyone sends cards anymore. So today, I am featuring A Punkin Card Company. Amie Needham is the companies owner and designer and is based out in the Houston area. She creates lovely stationery, business cards, and other paper goods that are colorful and fun. Just visiting her shop makes me smile.

So go visit her shop, and send a friend a card. Just because.

Midtown boutique, Drew Lewis, has a sale section with items of up to 75% off! They are trying to make room for all the great Fall clothes that are coming in.
Located on the corner of W. Peachtree and 6th

Over in Decatur, Dresscodes is offering 30% off your ENTIRE purchase. This sale ends Friday 9/26, so zip on over there!
Located at 201 W. Ponce de Leon Ave

If you're into makeup, then the dynamic duo of makeup artists, Tracy and Natalie, are hosting a fun, interactive game at their shop in Inman Park. The game is called BEAUTY OR NOT, and you can see the rules here. Fabulous prizes will be given away, so if you don't have any plans this Sunday, go join the fun!
Located at 775 Lake Ave.

By the way, there is a theme here. All three locations sell my jewelry, so you know they're cool spots. ;)

New Pieces Coming

I've been working on some new pieces and will be asking for your input/opinions. I'll also be running a contest where you can win a piece of June Shin jewelry! I'll have pictures to show in the next day or two so stay tuned! In the meantime, you can visit my shop at juneshin.etsy.com.

Wannabe Photographer

I've always wanted to be able to take great photographs. I just don't think I have the eye for it. But having a nice camera and good subjects always helps. This past weekend, G and I went down to the Serenbe Community in Palmetto, GA. It's based on the concept of organic and sustainable living. Everyone we met were very nice, and they have some great architecture. I find it a little weird though, because the homes are very different. There is one modern, California beach looking house standing right next to a log cabin one. And then a string of stone townhouses. In any case, here are some pictures that were taken while down there. We did eat at the Farmhouse, where the menu changes weekly based on available produce from the local organic farms. Read G's blog, eatdrinkman.blogspot.com, to learn more about the food and see more pictures.

This one I took myself. I meant to focus on the run down farmhouse, but the camera focused on the tree branch instead. Turned out to be a pretty cool shot, if I do say so myself.

There were a bunch of these orange butterflies flying around near the entrance to the restaurant. I had to get a shot.

Shoe Lust - Boots

Now that Fall is here, and the weather is cooler, I can actually think about and enjoy browsing for the season's boots. Here are just a few that are available at Piperlime.
Calvin Klein Rocci $120.00
Giuseppe Zanotti $765
Claudia Ciuti Magdalena $695

I absolutely LOVE the Magdalena, but I don't know if it will fit my calves right. Whenever I buy knee length boots, I have to get them taken in. A lot of people didn't know that you could do that, but you can. I've had them done for all my boots, and it was well worth the money. The boots have also lasted me a few years, so I'm getting a pretty good return on investment. :)
Enjoy the pics!

Etsy Favorites

It's about that time where I showcase some more faves from Etsy sellers.

I don't remember how I found Rings n Things, but Melissa has some great wire wrapped rings. The Captured Fire Ring shown below reminds me of an atom. Yeah, I'm a science major geek. Some other lovelies from her shop:All her pieces are really affordable, and she has necklaces, bracelets and earrings as well. On top of that, she has another Etsy shop for home decor. She's so crafty!

Naeem Khan Spring 2009

While I was browsing through Style.com, I came across Naeem Khan's collection from the runway. I absolutely love the collection. A bit of Asian inspiration and jewel toned dresses, all in lovely silhouettes. I think I want every piece.

Philip Lim Spring 2009

A few choice pieces from Mr. Lim's Spring collection. He had a lot of tiered ruffles which I liked, but the prints were not to my taste. Thus, I left them out. I did love the Louboutins used to outfit the pieces.

Pssst, pass this on....

So I was just at Drew Lewis today, and David told me about a HUGE sale they will be having this Sunday (9/14). A bunch of their stuff is going to be marked down 80%!!!! He was telling me that some $400 dress will be on sale for around $60! AWESOME! So if you're in the Atlanta area, go check them out. If you don't already know, they carry really great brands, and you should be able to score some fabulous clothes. Plus, there will be champagne. In a town where you can't buy alcohol on Sunday, champagne and shopping is my kind of church.

Soia & Kyo Fall 2008

It's still a little warm here to wear coats and jackets, but September's here and I absolutely love Fall outerwear. One of my faves is Soia & Kyo. I discovered them when Dresscodes, here in Atlanta, stocked some of their coats last year.

Fab or what?

God Save McQueen

I was just browsing through Style.com and wanted to share some of my favorites of Alexander McQueen's Fall 2008 accessories. I don't think I would personally wear any of these shoes, but they are a work of art. I do love the red croc bag though.

New Online Venue

A selection of my jewelry pieces can now be found at www.trinaandfriends.com. I'm very excited to be part of this online boutique which sells unique, handmade and indie items. Also, they donate a percentage of sales towards various charities each month. So not only do you get non-mass produced items when you purchase, you'd be helping society as well. How great is that? They have a variety of categories ranging from clothes, jewelry, paper goods, and furniture. Happy Shopping!
