Inman Park Festival 2012

It's that time of year again where I'm in massive production mode for the Inman Park Festival this weekend. I will be having a whole table full of sale items that are marked 35%-50%  off and racks of $9-$12 earrings! Plus some fun goodies. So please come by my booth. As long as they keep me in the same spot, I'll be on Euclid at the corner of Hurt.

Also, for those of you who are not local or can't make it, I will be putting up sale items online the following weekend. That'll give me some time to photograph and upload them. Studio Time

Nowadays, you will see all the cars here with this greenish, yellow halo, which means that Spring has officially arrived. This means that I'm in the studio a lot making lots of pieces for the Inman Park Festival. I will be continuing my spring cleaning theme, so I am actually going to have a whole sale section this year. I'm going to have a bunch of $10 earrings and items that are 50% off, so mark your calendars. April 28th and 29th are the dates. Below are a few pics of what I've been working on and my process.

Kirkwood Spring Fling

I'll be selling my designs at the Kirkwood festival tomorrow from 10-7! Come find me at booth #41 and see my latest designs. The festival will be taking place at the Bessie Branham park with lots of artists food and drinks. Should be good times!

Chomp and Stomp 2009!

It's time! The Cabbagetown Chomp and Stomp Chili Cookoff & Festival is this Saturday! It's my absolute favorite fall festival, and I'm excited to be setting up a booth for my 3rd year. So if you're in town, definitely put this on your to do list. If you want to try the chili, I suggest you come early as it tends to run out.

Kirkwood Spring Fling

I'll be setting up shop this Saturday at the 7th Annual Kirkwood Spring Fling. I've never been to this festival but have a few friends who will also be selling, so it should be lots of fun. So if you're in town, I hope to see you there? The festival is at Bessie Branham Park and my booth number is 14, right on Ridgedale Rd. And in looking at the map, the alcohol sales booth is right across from mine. Score!

How to make tent weights with PVC pipes

If you do an outdoor craft show, you'll need a tent and weights for the tent so that it doesn't blow away in windy weather. People come up with many different ways of weighing them down with either dumb bells, gallon jugs, cinder blocks, etc. A pretty popular method is creating weights using PVC pipes. I decided to make my own in time for the Inman Park Festival.

Things you'll need:
Four 3" PVC pipes
Four end caps
Four eye hooks
cement
Bucket to mix the cement
Mix the cement with water according to the directions on the bag. I thought it would be a creamy mixture, but it's very rocky and grainy.
I just took a plastic cup to put the cement into the pipes. I actually ran a little low for the last pipe, so I just mixed in rocks from the yard to fill it up. Then just stick the eye hooks into the cement and leave it outside to dry. It takes about 24 hours to solidify. Then voila! just hook them to your tent with some bungee cords.

There is also a parade and it happened to go by right in front of my booth. So of course, there were a bunch of people in my booth to watch it. So here is the view from behind my tables.

Saturday was really hot, but all in all, it was a great weekend. Next up is the Kirkwood Festival on May 16th.

Avondale Autumn Festival Weekend

As you may or may not now, I had a booth at an arts festival this weekend. I had never heard of it before, so I didn't know what the turnout was going to be like. Well, it was not so great. I don't know if it was the show itself, the economy or a combination of both, but there wasn't that much traffic. You live and you learn, right? Anyway, here are pics of my booth. What do you think? Well now that I have pictures, I can apply to the bigger shows which will hopefully mean more business for me!

Oh, I did meet some other indie artists, which is always fun. I even did a trade with someone who makes cute plushies! She's customizing one for me, so I'll get it in 2 weeks when we're both at the Cabbagetown Chomp and Stomp festival. Can't wait!
