Calypso St Barth Opening
Calypso St. Barth just opened a new store on the Westside in Atlanta. So two girlfriends and I went over to their opening to see the pretty store and enjoy a glass of mimosa. They had a lot of colorful pieces and when I saw the top above, I had to try it on. I wore it with a matching pair of cropped AG jeans and it was such a cute outfit. The top is now the newest member in my wardrobe. Just in time for my girls trip up to Newport, RI. More on that later.
Hope you had a great weekend!

Get To Know... The Asian Cajuns
Alright kids. This is my last interview for the year, so of course it has to be good. And I do have to say, they've all been good. So for this last one, I'd like to introduce to you, the Asian Cajuns! They are fashionista twins who run the fabulous blog, The Asian Cajuns, and local celebrities.
I met them by seeing them at a local restaurant and going up to them saying "Excuse me, are you the Asian Cajuns?" in front of their boyfriends and visiting parents. Hehe, it was a rock star moment. Well, I could go on, so here are their finished sentences, which they did separately. Enjoy and be sure to check out their site!
Catherine:
I am…an AsianCajun.
I am ... the other AsianCajun (my mom didn't know she was having twins until the doctor said, "Oh my God, there's another one.").

I am…an AsianCajun.In another life I was…either a queen or a maid...I'm going to go with queen.
In a future life, I hope to be…a twin again.
Many people don’t know that I…really enjoy a slice of grilled Spam.
I wish I had known sooner...that Anderson Cooper was gay.
I’d like to learn to…enjoy blue cheese.
I can’t believe I…can't run half a mile without getting winded.
I've never...not liked sour patch kids.
If I won the lottery, I would…travel to Sweden and shop at H&M and Ikea.
I’d like to thank the Academy for…recognizing all the people who have made a tremendous difference in the world...of Hollywood.
Lauren:
I am ... the other AsianCajun (my mom didn't know she was having twins until the doctor said, "Oh my God, there's another one.").In another life I was... probably, you know, the Dalai Lama, or the person who made his sandals.
In a future life, I hope to be... a twin again too! Even if it were twin ligers, I'd vote for having a double.
Many people don't know that I... wish I could sing.
I wish I had known sooner... how to make a good gumbo.
I'd like to learn to... have Hilary Clinton's composure (learning how to rock a pantsuit would be a bonus).
I can't believe I... never got to meet Kevin Aucoin.
I've never... been comfortable in the water, unless it's bathtub.
If I won the lottery, I would... be so tempted to buy the Olsen twins' wardrobe, but I would travel and donate more money to women in third world countries (who will some day soon rule the world).
I'd like to thank the Academy for... nominating me so I could wear this dress and these shoes (red Valentino, sky-high Christian Louboutins)

Get To Know... mchen
You may remember when I blogged about a trade I did with another Etsian: my Sway Necklace for her reConnect Monkeys tee dress. Well, this week, we get to know a little bit more about Emily, the designer/illustrator/screen printer and bride-to-be. I am so glad we "met" through Twitter/Etsy, because she is a funny all around awesome chick, and I'm sure that if we were to meet in person, we would have a blast just hanging out and eating great food. So read on to get a glimpse of her, and if you like what you read, be sure to check out her site and blog. She is also giving away a free item to one of my lovely readers!
I am… one lucky schmuck who always sees the glass half full.
I was… a really mean little kid, but I got a taste of my own medicine in middle school.
I will be… a married woman in less than 3 weeks!!!
My passion is… spread over way too many interests —design/illustration day job, QT with my peeps, going to live music, playing sports, t-shirt printing... I wish I could operate on 3 hours of sleep a night, like I used to in my 20’s!
Many people don’t know that I…
- have never eaten a peanut butter sandwich.
- played competitive ultimate frisbee on a women’s team that won gold at Nationals in 2005.
- do everything with my right hand... except write and draw.
Most days, you can find me… in front of my computer.
I’d like to learn to… drive stick.
I can’t believe I… recently overcame my apple allergy. I’ve eaten at least two a day since I found out!
If I won the lottery, I would… travel, share with friends & fam, get a house with studio space, and sew/design clothes for a part-time living (I don’t think I could stop working altogether!).
I’d like to thank the Academy for… surrounding me with such a solid support system and giving me so many open doors.
Now for the giveaway!

High Halloween Fashion
In the October issue of Harper's Bazaar, there is a gorgeous spread of Tim Burton's magical fashion, in anticipation of his retrospective at New York's Museum of Modern Art. Photographed by Tim Walker, these images and fashion are amazing. Here are a few of my faves, and you can see all of it here.

Marchesa Spring 2010
A little while ago, I blogged about the Christian Louboutin shoes that appeared on the runway of Marchesa's Spring Ready to Wear collection. Well, I just had to post pictures of some of the stunning dresses from the line. All images are from Style.com.

Shoe Lust - Christian Louboutin for Marchesa
Lately, I've been seeing variations of these shoes on the Fashion blogs, mainly because a variation of the bottom ones will be worn in the second Sex and the City movie. Well, these shoes were seen on the runway for the Marchesa 2010 Spring Collection. The model wearing the shoes at the bottom had her tattoos displayed through the sheer shoes and definitely makes it more interesting. But they are gorgeous if you don't have tattooed feet.

Happy Autumn!
I have to say, Fall is my favorite season. I love browsing (and buying) Fall coats/jackets and boots and shoes! I've been trying not to tempt myself too much, so I haven't been window shopping too much. But I did a little today and found these items. If I actually did buy them, I know I would get a lot of wear out of them.
The jacket is the Katrina from Soia & Kyo. I love their outerwear, but have yet to own a piece. Maybe this year will be the year. The boots are the Frankie Buckle boot from Frye, and cushion cut moonstone studs from onegarnetgirl. I normally like to wear dangly earrings, but since this coat has a high neck, I think studs are perfect.
I'll be posting more finds as I do more window shopping, and if you have any favorites, I'd love to hear about them.

Celebrity Style - Emma Watson
I just read this morning that Emma Watson (she plays Hermione in the Harry Potter movies) has decided to attend Brown University. The accompanying picture was of her wearing a vintage Ossie Clark print dress. Love the dress which you can see her wearing on the left. On the right is her in this cute Jason Wu number. I did some searches to see other outfits, and I love her style.
She has grown up to be quite lovely, and smart too. Love the shoes! ;)

Clementine's Fashion Challenge
Cassie from Shop Clementine is having this really fun challenge and contest over at her blog, and I just had to participate. She is going to an afternoon wedding and has an outfit all picked out but needs help with choosing the right shoes and jewelry. So this is where you come in. Find shoes and jewelry from her shop that you would put with this outfit. The winner wins a fabulous necklace.
I chose a pair of Seychelles sandals along with her Honeysuckle earrings and Glacier necklace. I can't wait to see what she chooses!

Making Kimchee
When I'm not making jewelry, I occasionally act as my husband's food stylist/assistant for his blog, eatdrinkman.com. Kimchee is pickled cabbage and a staple in the Korean diet. People either love it or hate it. So here I am helping him out by spreading the kimchee sauce all over the cabbage. Once this is done, he puts it in a sealed container to let it ferment for a few days, and then voila, the kimchee is ready. It's really not as simple as I make it out to be, so if you want to read about the details, check out his blog.

And if you're wondering about those earrings I'm wearing, they are the eternity pearl earrings that are available in my shop. The gray pleated top is from H&M.

Bamboo for your shoes
Prada has designed these wedge shoes with bamboo. I personally don't like the style, but the bamboo thing is pretty cool.
